Calolea

 http://calolea.com/
Today I would like to introduce you to a small business in California that creates Amazing Olive Oils. I was sent Samples of their products to review and I absolutely love them. We used the Blood Orange Infused Olive Oil in our Stir Fry the other night and it tasted Amazing!
In 1999, Monica and Michael Keller bought 10 acres in Loma Rica, California, and started Calolea Olive Oil. The first year they produced just 80 gallons of oil, but their timing was perfect as Californians were hungry for quality olive oil.
Calolea’s hand crafted olive oil has been certified “extra virgin” by the COOC and has an acidity level of 0.13%. The olives on the Keller’s 100 year old Mission and Manzanillo trees are hand picked, custom milled and cold pressed within 24 hours to create the highest quality oil possible.
In 2008 Calolea received the BEST IN SHOW award at the Los Angeles International Olive Oil Competition, the highest award given at the competition. In 2004, 2005, and 2006, Calolea received the  BEST IN CLASS award, and Calolea continues to rack up prestigious awards every year.
A blend of mandarin, blood and navel oranges gives this olive oil it’s fresh and unique flavor.

New Paleo Meals to try! I received a copy of this cookbook to read and review and to provide my honest opinions on. We are trying to go Paleo on a budget, it's not as easy as it sounds and being as we are Southerners we like to eat. I am therefore always on the look out for new recipes in the hopes that they will fit our tastes, budget and lifestyle. There are quite a few recipes in this book that we will be adopting into our life and quite a few that we will not be . I enjoyed reading about the Paleo diet from this author and I loved looking at and trying out the various recipes.
If you are thinking about the Paleo Diet or are already on it, I would definitely recommend giving this cookbook a go. -Dynal Roberson

Dry Creek Petrified Forest

Dry Creek Petrified Forest

We took our yearly trip out to the local petrified forest a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to share some of the pictures we took while we were out there. The view is spectacular. I wish the area hadn't been looted as much as it has been but we still enjoy the trip every year.
