Right out of the box this reel looked impressive, but I don't know a lot about fishing reels, so I handed it off to my husband who told me I was indeed correct, this is a really nice reel. He couldn't wait to go fishing with it. He put the reel on the new rod that I got him for his birthday. After using his new fishing gear he has decided that he loves the reel and hates the rod, so he will be putting the Sharky on his old rod.  My husband says that he would recommend this reel for both the avid fisherman and the beginner. In fact he intends on teaching me how to fish with it. The Sharky has a good, smooth cast and retrieve with a good cast range. We have found this reel to be a great real at a good value.
